Taylor Kiser XC1 Pro #6 GNCC Round #8 Race Report

June 6, 2009 - Wiseco John Penton - Millfield, OH
After the Somerset race I decided to head north to continue my training regimen in anticipation of the last half of the season. I spent many hours training and a lot of time focusing on my suspension and quad setup. Needless to say I headed into the Penton feeling more confident than ever. Saturday morning the weather was nearly perfect and as I headed to the line I was anxious to get the race underway.
I had yet another great jump off the line; my Yamaha powered to the first corner, allowing me to grab the holeshot. The first lap the top three riders swapped positions many times as we made our way through the course. My goal was to remain near the front and ride smart; I was confident this would put me up front in the last lap of the race. At the close of Lap one I was in third place right behind the leaders.
