Weekend Warrior Titan GNCC Results Revised
Borich Moves From Second to First

Morgantown, WV (May 6, 2009) - Race officials from the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series have announced revisions to the results based on penalties in the XC1 Pro ATV class from Saturday's Weekend Warrior Titan GNCC. During the race, officials became aware of three riders venturing outside of the allotted 25-feet from the course marker arrows during a section of the first lap on racing. The Racer TV crew captured the section on video, and the video was studied at the track on race day. However, greater analysis was available with the equipment utilized at the Racer Productions TV studios in Morgantown, WV. After analyzing the video and data collected from track check points, it was identified that Adam McGill, Don Ockerman and Taylor Kiser had missed a section of the course, passing competitors in the process.

In the revised results, McGill and Ockerman have been moved back three positions based on both riders gaining two spots while diverting from the track. Kiser has been moved back two positions as he gained only one spot while diverting from the track.

Consumer Product Safety Commission...

May 4, 2009

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The vote is in: Consumer Product Safety Commission votes to stay enforcement of law making sale of youth model off-highway vehicles illegal

PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has voted to stay enforcement of a lead law that currently bans the sale of youth-model motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). The stay, which extends through May 1, 2011, follows a unanimous vote by Acting Chairwoman Nancy Nord and Commissioner Thomas Moore.

The AMA Government Relations Department is currently examining the 25-page Stay of Enforcement document and will issue more details shortly. It can be viewed by clicking here.

The law in question is the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). Designed to protect children from lead in toys that might easily end up in children's mouths, the language of the legislation has ensnared a number of products that have little exposure risk, including youth-model motorcycles and ATVs.

GNCC Round #6 Race Report

May 2, 2009 – Weekend Warrior Titan – Lafayette, Tennessee
Round #6 was being held at a new location; Lafayette TN. So, I was especially excited to head to this new destination and despite the weather forecast I remained optimistic. When I arrived at the track early Friday I had just enough time to take care of a couple things on the quad before the storms rolled in. It rained nearly all afternoon and the forecast called for rain all evening and into Saturday.

Saturday morning it was pouring down rain and it was obvious by the destruction in the pits that it would take its toll on the track.  Watching the morning race I saw that the course was plenty muddy and I realized it would be a long day; but one I was ready for. On the line I remained calm and just prepared to ride smart and to keep myself out of trouble. I had a great jump off the line when the flag went up. I was edged out for the holeshot but by the time I hit the woods I had gained control of the lead. I made a few small mistakes on the first lap that cost me a few positions but I charged forward to make up the ground and was scored in seventh place at the end of the lap.
